California wildfire forces highway closures and evacuations A wildfire that started Friday night has burned about 1,200 acres in California. The fire — which started at about 11 p.m. PT Christmas night — forced officials to close parts of Highway 101 and the Pacific Coast Highway, about 65 miles northwest of Los Angeles.
